Accidental Sire (Half-Moon Hollow #6) by Molly Harper.

In Molly Harper’s newest paranormal romantic comedy, Ben, Gigi’s old boyfriend, must find a way to save his new love after a freak Ultimate Frisbee accident. But will she want to live after she finds out how Ben had to save her?

In this exciting addition to Molly Harper’s beloved Half-Moon Hollow series, the focus is on Gigi’s ex-boyfriend Ben. When his new girlfriend is killed in a freak Ultimate Frisbee accident, he’s determined to save her, no matter the cost, even if it means bringing her into the darkness of vampire life!

Review

This book is one of my favourite Half Moon Hollow books. It has the perfect mix of, adventure humour and romance and even more humour. The story itself is brilliant and the characters are wonderful. I will say that you should read the Jane Jameson books and the rest of the Half Moon Hollow stories first (great in book form, outstanding in audio book form.) because this is a series that works best in their written order.

Many of the wonderful Half Moon Hollow characters feature in this book and they are as great as always.

Ben (remember Ben? Gigi’s sweetie of an ex) is at a college party and meets Megan. They have a great time, a toe-curling goodnight kiss then arrange to meet for a date. Then an accident occurs and to prevent her permanent departure from the corporeal community Megan becomes a member of the undead.

I love the fact that this book includes so many of the people introduced in previous books. I even warm to Ophelia in this book. (shocking I know!)

The writing of this whole series has been so cleverly done and the Audio books perfect marriage of Molly Harpers writing and the wonderful Amanda Ronconni’s narrating is a match made in book heaven.

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again . . .

Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again . . .

The novel begins in Monte Carlo, where our heroine is swept off her feet by the widower Maxim de Winter and his sudden, unexpected, proposal of marriage. Orphaned and working as a lady’s maid, she can barely believe her luck. It is only when they arrive at his massive country estate that she realizes how large a shadow his late wife will cast over their lives–presenting her with a lingering evil that threatens to destroy their marriage from beyond the grave.

Review…

I have read and listened to this story so many times throughout the years and my fascination with it doesn’t diminish.

I actually dislike historical fiction but there are very few that hold a place in my heart. Rebecca and Little Women are the main two, closely followed by Pride and Prejudice.

I can definitely strongly urge you to give this classic a go.
